Application for Graduation
Student Responsibilities
Students share certain responsibilities relevant to their college education. These responsibilities include application for graduation and proper behavior.
- A student should apply for graduation via Self-Service during the registration period of the semester the student expects to complete program requirements for a degree, diploma, or certificate.
- Successful completion of all course requirements for the student’s selected curriculum is required with the following stipulations:
- At least 25 percent of curriculum course requirements must be completed at HCC.
- A minimum Cumulative GPA of 2.00 must be obtained for the required coursework.
- All financial obligations must be met.
- Graduation fees for curriculum students are included in their student activity fee.
- The diploma (or certificate) is provided at no cost to the student who participates in graduation. All students are encouraged to participate in commencement ceremonies.
- Students in a curriculum, which awards certificates, diplomas, and/or AAS degrees, should apply for graduation at the time they register for their last classes in each level. Halifax Community College wants students to be recognized for each level they complete as they progress through their major.
