Next NC Scholarship

The Next NC Scholarship is a need-based grant established by the North Carolina General Assembly. The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority, through College Foundation Inc., makes award determinations. The Next NC ScholarshipNCCCG provides funds to help meet the educational costs of most North Carolina residents attending community colleges. Students with bachelor’s degrees are not eligible. A student must meet the following eligibility requirements to receive assistance:

• You must be admitted to a curriculum program and be enrolled for at least six credit hours per semester.
• You must be a North Carolina resident for tuition purposes.
• You must have completed and submitted the FAFSA.
• You must meet the Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements of the institution.
• You must qualify for the grant based upon a valid Student Aid Index (SAI)Expected Family Contribution calculation under federal methodology and the program’s recognized “required educational expenses” for attending a North Carolina community college.
• You must meet all other eligibility requirements for the Federal Pell Grant.
