Purpose of SAP

All financial aid recipients are required to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress guidelines established by Halifax Community College pursuant to regulations established by the U.S. Department of Education. Regulations require astudent’s progress, for financial aid purposes, be measured both quantitatively and qualitatively. The intent of thispolicy is to ensure that students who are receiving federal and state financial aid are making measurable progress towardcompletionofaprograminareasonableperiodoftimeandareasonablenumber ofcredithoursattemptedintheirprogramofstudy.
