Admission Requirements for Home School Graduates
Home school graduates must complete the following procedures prior to their enrollment at Halifax Community College:
- The home school administrator must show and provide proof that the home school was certified by the North Carolina Department of Non-Public Instruction or a copy of the home school’s approved registration from the state in which they are registered.
- The home school administrator must submit an official transcript from the home school. If the home school administrator and/or the student does not have the proper certification, the student cannot be accepted to a curriculum program at Halifax Community College. He/she must obtain a High School Equivalency Credential (GED®) from Halifax Community Colleges’ program before being eligible to register for a curriculum program.
