Undocumented Immigrants

The North Carolina Administrative Code provides that community colleges shall admit an undocumented immigrant only if he or she attended and graduated from a United States public high school, private high school, or home school that operates in compliance with state or local law or has received a diploma from an adult high school that is located in the United States and operates or operated in compliance with state or local law. Online high school diplomas and high school equivalency certificates are not acceptable for admission. Undocumented students are charged the out-of-state tuition rate and are not eligible for financial aid. Students lawfully present in the United States shall have priority over any undocumented immigrant in any class or program of study when capacity limitations exist.

Undocumented students are also not eligible for allied health or nursing programs.
