High School Student Enrollment

Effective January 1, 2012, legislation combined Huskins, Learn and Earn, and Dual Enrollment into one program identified as the Career and College Promise Pathway (CCPP) Initiative. HCC offers four pathways: College Transfer Pathway, Career Technical Education Pathway, Career and College Ready Pathway, and Cooperative Innovative High School (CIHS) Programs. The CIHS is in partnership with the Roanoke Valley Early College/Weldon City Schools, Northampton County Early College/Northampton County Schools, and Roanoke Rapids Early College /Roanoke Rapids High School.

 

North Carolina community colleges may offer the following Career and College Promise pathways aligned with the K-12 curriculum and career and college ready standards adopted by the state board of education:

 

  • College Transfer Pathway leading to a minimum of 30 hours of college transfer credit for qualifying high school juniors and seniors.
  • A Career and Technical Education Pathway leading to a certificate, diploma, or degree for qualifying high school juniors and seniors.
  • A Cooperative Innovative High School Pathway approved under Part 9 of Article 16 of Chapter 115C of the General Statutes.
  • Home-schooled students must submit a copy of the home school’s approved registration from the state in which they are registered. Home-schooled applicants must provide official high school transcripts for the course work completed.
  • CCR (Career and College Ready) pathway allows students to access developmental math and English/reading courses and pathway to employment courses, providing career and college-ready support before graduation.
