2026-2027 Academic Catalog

Record Review and Destruction Procedure

The student’s permanent academic record is maintained indefinitely. Student records are reviewed periodically, and any nonessential or inaccurate materials are removed and securely destroyed. Permanent transcript information is retained electronically through the College’s Etrieve cloud-based document management system. In accordance with the North Carolina Community College System’s Records Retention and Disposition Schedule, paper copies of permanent student records may be destroyed after a student has not been enrolled for five years from the date of last attendance, provided that the permanent transcript record has been preserved.
