Tuition Refunds
The College issues tuition and fee refunds only when a student officially withdraws from a course or the College cancels the course. Refund amounts depend on the type of course and when the withdrawal occurs. For most curriculum and continuing education courses, students receive a 100% refund of tuition and fees if they withdraw before the course begins or if the College cancels the class. After a course begins, students may receive a 75% refund of tuition only if they officially withdraw on or before the 10% point of the course (or the census date for continuing education courses). No State-funded refunds are available after these deadlines.
For non-regularly scheduled or self-paced courses, a 75% tuition refund may be issued if the student withdraws within 10 calendar days of the course start date. Courses that begin and end on the same day are not eligible for refunds once the course has started.
Student activity fees are not refundable.
Additional refund provisions apply in special circumstances. If a student dies before completing a course, all tuition and fees are refunded to the student’s estate. Students in the military or National Guard who are called to active duty or reassigned may request a full refund of tuition and fees, may be eligible for textbook buyback, and may be offered options to complete coursework online when feasible. Refunds for self-supporting curriculum and continuing education courses follow the same refund rules as other courses.
Students are responsible for completing the official withdrawal process to be eligible for any refund.
